For a team to be successful, it takes a lot more that getting a bunch of players with high rankings on the field. The strategy is, as we all know, pretty much essential for a football team to become successful over the year. The man responsible for transfers and the number of strategies per season is the coach of course. And recent events and transfers of football player added a bit of doubt in capabilities of many coaches. So let’s see what players were transferred to another team and under which conditions.
Sometimes Manchester United manages to get all the headlines, all thanks to the man, the legend- Zlatan Ibrahimovic. French media claimed that Manchester has offered a suite to Zlatan, which includes a one-year deal and a possibility of another year deal, depending on Zlatan’s contribution to the team. However, Zlatan wasn’t ready to join Manchester United until he was assured that Mourinho is the next coach. And for 69 million euros, his decision was clear to finally get a transfer to Manchester United.
James Rodrigues from Real Madrid
Being that Mourinho is a big public fan of James, it was not a surprise that this transfer was made for a price of astonishing 70 million pounds. Being that this is a huge salary even for professional players, James Rodrigues has a lot to prove and right now not all can agree that he is on the right path.
Di Maria’s Transfer
Angel di Maria agreed to transfer for 70 million euros. Fresh from winning the champion’s league with Real Madrid, Manchester United broke their transfer record to bring Di Maria in 2014. And with two goals and two assists in first few matches Argentinian has a great beginning. But a series of injuries and an incident involving a burglar invading his house made this move leave a bitter taste.
The Legend Zinedine Zidane and his transfer
One of the greatest players of all time was bargained for 75 million euros for his transfer. He was an instant success for Real Madrid but ultimately couldn’t stand the competition and unleash the full potential of his abilities in later games. The biggest problem was his years and some injuries that he endured in the past. Whether or not this transfer was worth it, is for Real Madrid fans to decide.
No matter how much money is invested in a player’s transfer, there is a number of things that can affect his play on the field. And with many examples, before we know how hard is it to match all those circumstances in order to get the full potential of a player. Not every player is worth the money their managers claim them to be and not every team is making a smart decision by investing enormous amount on seemingly worthy players. At the end of the day, it all becomes transparent as player’s contributions to the team show if the transfer was worth it or not.
With a lot of players graduating to the major league, players having disappointing minor league season, while other players are having great minor league season a lot can change in the top 10 prospects over the course of a year.
So let us sum it up, and include other analyst’s predictions to determine what top 10 is going to look a year from now. So let’s see who can be number one in prospects.
Jim Callis’s point of view
It is evident that a lot can change as we’ve mentioned before, but only if we look at the recent history and the last few list we might get a better insight at the situation. Traditionally a guy who is number one at the season’s end is the guy who is going to be in top ten at the next season’s rankings. Using that logic to figure out what our list is going to look like at the end of 2016’s season, there is basically four guys who will not be transferred from previous season’s list to this one’s. Those four guys are Brendon Rogers, Austin Meadows, Victor Robles and Wilin Rosario. And the number one prospect, as many predict, at the end of 2016’s season will be Victor Robles.
He might be fairly young, only 19 years, but he might have the best tools to become a great player in Baseball minor’s league. Judging by his success so far and his defense capabilities, Victor Robles is the number one guy prospect in a year from now. If you only follow his success from last year, you will most certainly get the image that he is an average player. Many baseball analysts will disagree as he is growing to be what is considered as a perfect player in baseball. At least in minor’s league.
There are many players that can prove themselves over the year and earn their spot in the top 5 players of the season, but few succeed. This takes a lot of effort and time to perfect your technique in order to be recognized by professionals. Baseball is a game that is infused with American spirit and tradition. It goes without saying that in order to become a top player you have to win the crowd as well as perform good enough to be noticed. Many talent agents know how important is to win a crowd even in the early stages of the career. This is why they include player’s overall score, general contribution to the team, offense and defense capabilities before they pick him for transfer.
Sports Illustrated has released their top 100BA players heading into the 2017 season and number one player one the list was champion LeBron James. There was a lot of discussion about which player should be on the top of this list, but in the end, we had our winner. Best analytics made this the easiest decision solely monitoring his contribution on the defense and offense as well. Here are a couple of reasons why he was our number one player and why are Duran and Curry on second and third spot on this list.
As the season was unfolding analysts thought that this was going to be a pretty tough debate. Should LeBron be in the first spot or Curry, or Durant but LeBron James made it easy for them to decide with his statistics. We all remember when he came flying from half court to block that shot in the finals, and clinched the comeback from the 31 deficit; he is still a clear winner way above guys like Curry and Durant. At least regarding general contribution and effort on the court.
Why Durant Deserves 2nd place on this List?
So LeBron is definitely number one, no question about it. But placing second best and third best on SI’s list is where thing start to become a little tricky. So obviously Durant is number two player on this list and the unanimous NVP-step Curry on third place, so why was Durant over Curry? If we closely examine the performance of this two players is all comes to a couple of things that make Durant better over Curry. Number one reason is probably versatility, and especially on the defense. Kevin has a lot of ground to cover, and he does it well. He can guard multiple positions, and he can also step out on guard in the pick and roll situations. We actually saw him defend Curry in times of the playoffs and he was pretty effective at it.
Curry’s Third Spot Explained
Curry is a guy who although performs well on the offense is pretty much only for that positions. In a lot of situations, coaches know that they need to preserve his energy and that is why they use him as a weapon only in critical situations. Another reason why he is bellow Durant is due to his multiple injuries over the years. Now when a professional player in NBA, like Curry, has health problems it takes a lot of effort to come back to the previous level. He simply wasn’t able to return as the same player after the injuries, and that is totally acceptable if we notice the gravity of the situation and how serious were the injuries. It goes without mentioning that Sports Illustrated know what they are doing when they score players. This is why we have no objections to their decision to place these three players on this list as top three.
Basketball is a game that’s been around for more than a hundred years, yeah pretty long enough. And during this period many teams were noticed and stayed on top as top favorites. Today some of them stay as true kings of NBA and still have a large number of fans. But what teams can be considered as all-time best in the history of NBA? Judging by their success, popularity with fans and overall score we’ve come to this list of top five.
Now Chicago Bulls might not be the best NBA team currently on the list but their success on the court over the years has definitely earned them a spot on this list. Many famous players played for this team including Michael Jordan, and Scottie Pippen back in the days. All of them contributed to this team’s undeniable success winning many championships year after year. With M.J. on the court, this team won 6 championships starting from 1991 until 1998, skipping only two years 1994 and 1995. Although Michael Jordan had some tough times at the beginning with his teammates, we all remember the period when we barely had any ball possession; he became an important asset to this team.
With astonishing 17 championships won starting form 1957 this team can be considered as an old school team, since they were there since NBA was founded. Not many know that this team success over the years can be attributed to coaches instead of the player. There were without a doubt some memorable players like Larry Bird and many others, but the key to their success was always strategy. And I’m not talking about any strategy here, but old school strategy that was proven many times before to be most effective.
Los Angeles Lakers
This team owns its success and popularity with fans mainly to players like Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Brian, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson in the old days. Everybody knows about Shaq and Kobe, but true fans, especially older generation still remember Kareem and others. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was recently actually rewarded with Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Golden State Warriors
Although their success is more noticeable in the last couple of years, they had their portion of championships back in the days. With only four championships won including 1947, 1956, 1975, and 2015 a lot of analytics will disagree that they should be on this list. But it’s not about the number of championships they’ve won, but general contribution of players to the success of this team.
This team is definitely my favorite, and players like Vince Carter and Vince Bosh, later on, became some of the most memorable in Raptors history only due to their skills. This team certainly had their ups and downs, but the important thing is that they’ve stood up every time and continued on. Their peak was probably around 1998 and later on, but their overall success as a team was undeniable.
